Christine Loh

Professor Chirstine Loh has a career that spans law, business, media, policy, politics and philanthropy. A lawyer by training, she started her professional career as a commodities trader before becoming a legislator in Hong Kong and left behind a significant legacy in urban planning, equal opportunities, anti-corruption, as well as environmental legislation. She then founded a non-profit think tank, which became a noted thought leader. She served on the boards of listed companies, included the stock exchange in Hong Kong. From 2012-17, she was the Under Secretary for the Environment in the Hong Kong SAR Government and was associated with many policy achievements. 

She is currently the Chief Development Strategist at the Institute for the Environment at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She has also been teaching at the Anderson School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles on Non-Market Risks - Understanding Politics: The Global Context of Doing Business. Professor Loh is also a board member of the Robert HN Ho Family Foundation, CDP Worldwide, and the Global Maritime Forum.

Professor Loh received her LLB from the University of Hull, England, and her LLM from the City University of Hong Kong in Chinese and Comparative Law.  She received honorary degrees of Doctor of Law from the University of Hull and Doctor of Science from the University of Exeter.
